The Medieval Castle

Built at the end of the 12th century, the medieval castle is a fortified castle located on the island of Noirmoutier in the department of Vendée. This impressive castle is listed in the prestigious list of Historic Monuments. One of the best preserved in the Great West, the medieval castle is composed of a perimeter wall with round path. This architecture forms a quadrangle of nearly 100 m by 50 m, flanked at the corners of two towers and two stilts surrounding the central dungeon.
